It was founded by twin brothers Harald and Rainer Opolka with not much more than an old Atari computer, a set of tools, a drawing pad and around 1,000 Deutschmarks of seed capital. They were among the first to pioneer putting LED lighting technology into portable, handheld lights. Now, almost 30 years later, Ledlenser continues to manufacture and distribute premium portable lighting products–flashlights, headlamps and area lights-in over 50 countries around the world, with more than 100 industrial design property rights.
